Any thoughts on the band, the setlist, the musicianship, the visuals, the sound, anything at all? Feel free to be as honest (positive or negative) as you like. We're interested in what you have to say, so fire away...

Hey,
As you can imagine putting together a setlist takes time but since this project is long term we would to know what you would love to hear. Particular Songs, or is there a full album which is your favourite.
As fans We have talked about a presenting "Grace Under Pressure" as an "idea".
What would you like to hear & why?

You could ask the fans to vote for their favourite songs. The songs with the most votes get played. It's been done before but... Or perform an album. In the first half. Then do fans favourites after the interval as above. Or -whatever. Rush music works for me.

Hows it goin Karl, We have discussed songs, albums between ourself but i set picked by fans has always been a favorite of 'the fans'. Unforturately not all of the early materail is doable. The high pitched vocal problem Geddy had is also a commom factor here. We did try playing Hemisphere in rehearsals last year but poor Kev nearly ended up in AnE trying to hit the notes.
There is a bunch of stuff we'd all like to hear, play and "I have an idea" has already sent the boys running for cover but a fans vote is on the cards.

I think it would be a great idea if you performed a rush live album in full

Hey Garry,
Yeah, Exit.... would be on the cards as a presentation, considering most of the material we play already. "All the world" I'm afraid suffers from the vocal pitching problem, as we know Geddy himself has put his hands up saying he can't sing that stuff anymore.
As a band & individuals we have learnt to work within our boundaries but that doesn't stop us from givin it a go.
Exit .... is first time I heard Tom Sawyer which sticks we, & we do a nod to the album already segue "The Trees" into "Xanadu".
My favourite Live is "Different Stages", T4E tour was a cracker which I got to see twice.
So let's to chat about & consider. But first, the monster set at the Sugarclub next Saturday.
Love this. Trancey keyboard is great underneath guitars.

I think it's a great thing you are doing. Especially now that the band no longer perform and are unlikely to be very productive in any fashion for a while...if at all. Really enjoyed the show on Saturday at Sugar Club: finally a show that didn't clash with something else :)
Highlights were Freewill, Natural Science and 2112. And side one of MP as an encore? That was bold and classy.
It's a very good, full show. Great combo of music and visuals.
Would love to hear Entre Nous, Jacob's Ladder or Witch Hunt next time out...or all of 'Fear' if you're feeling brave ;)

Hey Shane,
Thanks for getting involved in the forum.
Delighted you enjoyed Saturday. Believe it or not but each one of us had a mare of a gig, all for different reasons. Form a drum POV it doesn't get any tougher, but we play every note with belief.
The set has progressed over the last couple of years trying to fine that sweet spot, I think we've finally managed to get it.
Everyone has there own favs, mine been Xanadu. I didn't see my howler coming on that one.
The set has been created trail n error, but this is a monster on paper & to play.
"Fear" .... witch hunt was played for MP show, it was missing something, a glue, or we hadn't clicked with it yet. The Weapon has be thrown around the studio a couple of times. So there is thought in motion.
We have to gig this set a little bit, get rid of the rust, & for me there's also the physical thing, it's tough going.
We appreciate the support & we know as fans ourselves that we're under the fans microscope which is nerve racking. Nowhere to hide.
Delighted you got to the show, built with a lot of love by fans, for fans.
Sorry didn't get to meet you chat all thing rush, next time! 🤘

I appreciate it's one of the ultimate challenges to replicate this stuff. Had an idea that I might wanna try it myself a few years ago but didn't know anyone committed to something of this magnitude...until now :) Fair play to you all. I'd definitely cut you some slack for tackling this music with such vigour anyway. Certainly got a killer set there as is. Was very pleased to chat with Tony and Mick afterwards - we shall catch up next time, so. Barely ever meet other Rush fans here even though there were seven thousand or so at The Point that night in 2011!

Thanks Shane. Yes we could have picked the easy option of a band to cover, but no it had to be our heros. Two days pervious to Sugar Club we ran the set, note perfect, no glicks, nothing but wonderful energy. We are now looking at the sugarclub all feeling we had four different gigs, with every basic mistake that could be made & very nerve exposed. So we're all pretty mad at ourselves, we know the standard required & generally deliver but saturday was one of those night where if i could go wrong, it did. But as you said "with vigour', that alone is a huge compliement to us.
RUSH fan base is Hardcore, good to know that we're not alone.

Ah. I wouldn't be too harsh on yourselves lads. Really enjoyed the show and it was really very good out front :) I know what you mean about personal expectations and the things you'd like to have back but onwards, upwards: that's what the next show is for
