​Over a dinner in Yamamori, I had mentioned to my two drum buddies that I had intended to start a Rush Tribute band. Not one which would be suiting up in 70s-style kimonos, but one which would be purely about the music. Baz got up from his seat, came around to give me a hug and, just like a mother would, said “There, there now, you’ll be ok when the pills kick in!” But then, joking aside, Johnny Boyle & Baz Campbell approved and said if anyone was gonna do this it would be me. Encouraging, for sure! Little did I know.

As part of this site launch, we've created a Forum, where you can discuss just about anything you want. Simply sign up and log in. The categories so far are '2112 - the band', 'Let's talk about Rush' and 'Let There Be Rock' but we'll be adding more as we go along. We want to know what you think about the band, Rush, and the vast spectrum of music in general. What songs do you want to hear live? Will Rush ever reform and do you want them to? The site features a blog to relay the latest band news, a gallery featuring stunning live photography and a video section containing promo videos and clips used in the live show. We've also added a forum, an online meeting place where anyone can add and discuss their opinion on all things 2112, Rush and music in general. Ireland's premier Rush cover band, 2112 return to The Sugar Club, Dublin for one night on Saturday, July 1, 2017

Drummer Ian Smyth, vocalist Kevin Murphy, bassist Mick Lindsay and guitarist Tony Jones bring their unique take on canadian rock legends Rush back to the Sugar Club for one night on July 1. Like previous shows, they blend classics dating back to the mid-70s (from the albums 2112, Permanent Waves, Hemispheres, Moving Pictures) with newer classics from albums such as Signals, Grace Under Pressure and Power WIndows. Ireland's premier Rush cover band, 2112 are back rehearsing at Beechpark Studios in preparation for their upcoming show at The Sugar Club, Dublin on July 1, 2017.

In addition to old Rush standards such as 2112, Limelight and Xanadu, they promise an extensive set of 2 hours+, with newer Rush tracks and, of course, a few surprises that they've yet to play live! With the backup of a spectacular video show it promises to be a night to remember for any discerning rock fan.

Tickets are €17.50 plus booking at tickets.ie and The Sugar Club.
